We are a warm and welcoming yoga studio that offers a soft landing from the pace of modern life.

Our classes support the body and nervous system through mindful movement, gentle strengthening, and restorative practices rooted in tradition and care.

FAQs

  • Yes! Beginners are welcome and warmly invited.

    All classes except for Ashtanga Level 2 are appropriate for beginners.

    Teachers offer support for all students throughout class, including options and modifications as needed.

  • No. Come as you are.

  • Class styles range from gentle and restorative to steady and strengthening. Class descriptions within the schedule provide guidance.

  • Comfortable clothing and an open mind.

    Mats and props are provided; you are welcome to bring your own.

    Complimentary tea and water are available.

  • The studio is open at least 15 minutes before and after class.

    You are welcome to enjoy complimentary tea, browse a book, shop retail items, or quiet solo practice whenever the studio is open.

  • We prefer that you pre-register for classes as we prepare the space with mats and props prior to start time. Classes with 1 or fewer preregistrations one hour prior to start time may be canceled (but not always, solo sessions are lovely). Classes may also be canceled due to poor weather or school closures. You will be contacted via text and email if we cancel your class.

    Any cancelations will be visible on the schedule.

    You're welcome to drop in to any class on the schedule.

  • somayoga michigan is located in Midland County, Michigan.

    Our studio is at 2655 N. Meridian Rd., Suite 1, Sanford, MI 48657, approximately a quarter mile north of Exit 116, just off US-10 in Sanford.

    Clear signage is out front. Parking is available in the shared plaza and overflow area. Text 989-488-9442 if you need assistance upon arrival.

robin bushre

Robin is the founder of somayoga and teaches most weeky offerings. Her classes are lighthearted and rhythmic and point students toward peace and improved well-being over time.

Robin’s yoga education includes a 200YTT in Ashtanga, Hatha, and Yoga Nidra, with Yin Yoga, Aerial Yoga, and 26-pose Hot Yoga certifications plus Reiki Master Level training, Vipassana, Shamatha, and Vedic meditation studies, and courses in Ayurveda. She grew up in the area but lived in India for several years.

Yoga is a source of healing and inspiration that Robin has relied on through life’s many seasons. even now into householder and motherhood stage. She discovered a calling in sharing yoga’s gifts with others and is grateful always to her teachers.

rodasi campbell

Rodasi is a highly skilled meditation teacher, contemplative guide and yoga instructor with over 20 years of teaching experience in a variety of settings. Her work bridges ancient wisdom traditions, neuroscience, and lived practice, offering students clear, grounded pathways toward insight, compassion, and inner steadiness.

Rodasi will be back this fall for meditation courses and online classes..

Heidi Grace is a well-known yoga teacher and Ayurvedic counselor whose work has spanned decades and is rooted in mindful movement, self-inquiry, and years of study. Her classes emphasize presence, breath, and attuned pacing, creating spacious, supportive environments for embodied inquiry and integration.

Heidi is leading Living Ayurveda, an introductory workshop this fall.


james (jim) brady

James (Jim) Brady is a certified yoga instructor whose path began in the San Francisco Bay Area while seeking relief from chronic shoulder pain. With nearly 20 years of experience as a fitness specialist, he blends strength, balance, flexibility, and functional movement to support healthier patterns and sustainable practice.

Sarah Lou is a movement educator known for her embodied, functional approach. Drawing from extensive training and nearly two decades of teaching and bodywork, her offerings invite curiosity, womb work and intelligence, and sustainable movement that support long-term wellbeing.

Sarah hosts a women’s pelvic health.mini-retreat at soma this September.
